Force Energy Solutions
John Owens Owner
The home located at 511 Dawson San Antonio Texas, a Structural Concrete Insulated Panel (SCIP)* constructed home was tested for a HERS rating and code compliance by Force Energy Solutions (FES). Force Energy Solutions is an energy efficiency company based in San Antonio TX. FES provides energy testing and energy simulations for code compliance and other green programs.
The envelope test standard for new homes built to the 2015 IECC is 5 air changes per hour (ACH). After running an envelope depressurization test on 511 Dawson the results were striking. This home tested at well below the code requirement at 1.36 ACH. The significance of this test result is what makes this home highly efficient whether cooling or heating
Comfort: When a structure is built with SCIPs, it creates an interior environment that blocks wind and moisture, is very quiet, clean, and that contributes to superior comfort.
Construction Speed: SCIPs are a faster method of construction because they reduce framing time by as much as 50% percent compared to conventional stick frame methods.
Energy Efficiency: Structural Concrete Insulated Panels such as USS PANEL are one of the most airtight and well insulated building systems available reducing energy consumption.
Green Building: SCIPs reduce their impact on the environment by using component materials that are earth friendly and helps create a green building that uses less energy.
Strength: SCIPs are a strong method of construction and can outperform conventional methods in both structural testing and real world high winds and earthquakes.
The USS Panel product used in the home construction of 511 Dawson St , in San Antonio TX was an excellent choice on behalf of the builder. It’s a choice that the future owner of this property is going to appreciate for the next number of years.
This structure is going to be tornado proof, fire resistant, insect resistant, more energy –efficient and nearly free of exterior maintenance needs that are typical of conventional construction materials.
